Flower Communion Earth School: “A Lesson in Flowers”

Unitarian Universalist minister Rev. Carole Martignacco will be leading a special service: “Earth School: A Lesson in Flowers” In a blossoming universe, all beings are blossoms. We’ll revisit the history of our 100-year-old UU tradition of the Flower Communion and celebrate the story of Earth’s evolution giving rise to the very first flowers.

Our Sunday Services begin at 10:30 a.m. Our worship services include a talk on a topic related to UUism, humanitarian and social responsibility, religion and spiritual practice, our 8 Principles and 6 Sources, UUA values, the big questions of life’s meaning, and right relations on the interconnected web. We offer concurrent childcare and gather in the kitchen and library afterwards for coffee, cookies, and conversation.

We also invite participants to join us on Zoom (password coffee). Following most Zoom services, we have a short covenant group discussion on a question related to the service.

Unitarian Universalists strive to create safer, more inclusive, more compassionate spaces for people of all backgrounds, genders, and classes. Most of us are curious about the world and the meaning of life, and seek ways to make the world we live in a better place for all beings. If you come with an open mind, a loving heart, and giving hands, you will find others here to accompany you on your journey.

On September 21, the children will be doing Show and Tell. September 21st: Show and Tell.. Please have your child bring in a favourite toy, stuffed animal, or other item they hold dear. No electronics or other valuables, please.
